Our Bright Future Depends on What We Do Today
At Bright Star Academy, we understand that the secret to living is giving. Our teachers and Leadership Team participate in a variety of events benefitting non-profit organizations. Whether it’s passing out treats to our community, collecting toys for children who otherwise wouldn’t have presents on Christmas morning, or raising money to provide hot Thanksgiving meals to a family going through a hard time- we understand. Giving back to the community is something we all can do and is a great way to learn compassion, kindness, and generosity.
Community Events
St. Jude Walk/Run To End Childhood Cancer
At St. Jude, families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food because all they should worry about is helping their child survive. Bright Star Academy Schools is proud to partner with such an amazing foundation and fully believe this is a cause worth fighting for! Together, our staff and families raise money to help end childhood cancer.
VRHS Trunk or Treat
Every year, Bright Star Academy teams up with the Vista Ridge High School Student Council to pass out treats to over 700 children from our community. This event is not only a great way to connect with our incredible community, but we also collect non-perishable and canned goods to donate to the Hill Country Community Ministries.
Partnerships For Children: Holiday Wishes
Bright Star Academy is a proud supporter of the “Partnerships For Children: Holiday Wishes” Program. Many of the Central Texas children who are in the care of Child Protective Services during the holiday season are at risk of not having a present to open on Christmas morning. With the help of our generous families and staff, we have been able to give almost a thousand toys to the children in Central Texas Child Protective Services.
Turkey Drive with Reveal Resources
In 2018, Bright Star Academy teamed up with our friends at Reveal Resources to raise funds and give back to families needing a little extra help through the holiday season. Last year, we were able to provide over 20 Thanksgiving meals to families in need.
Make A Wish - Letters to Santa
Bright Star Academy is a proud participant in the Make-A-Wish “Letters to Santa” campaign. For every letter a child writes, Macy’s donates $1.00 to the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation. Make-A-Wish is on a mission to grant the wish of every eligible child, because kids need a wish to give them strength and help them heal. Since 2017, Bright Star Academy has mailed over 250 letters to the “North Pole”.
