We love Bright Star! Our son attends for after-school care during the school year. While he doesn’t appreciate having to do his reading and homework there after school, we LOVE that the school influences the work to get done! We also love the Summer day camp that the school offers. Each week has a theme with fun activities and off-site field trips planned around each theme! Since moving here in 2015 our son has been to three different competitor daycare facilities. Brightstar is hands down THE BEST! We appreciate all that they do, especially Ms Kirstin!

My daughter has been at Bright Star for a year and a half since she was 3 months old. We absolutely love it! She has learned so much. They have engaging lessons each week with bonus days of Spanish and music. They have taught my daughter so many ASL words that it makes communicating with her at home so much easier! The staff (in and out of the classroom) is always friendly, informative and readily available to hear any concerns or answer any questions I might have. I also have a peace of mind knowing that there is a nurse ready to take care of her health needs. My daughter literally RUNS, not walks, to her classroom everyday!

The negative reviews posted recently are completely fabricated. I would not allow my child to continue attending a school like the one mentioned. I am a teacher (high school) with an M Ed, and we (my husband works in higher ed) chose this school over a dozen others that we toured and some that we actually attended for a time. We had some negative experiences at other area schools (in which my child spent most of her day bored and wandering aimlessly while the teacher ignored the class-on camera). We pulled her out immediately. Bright Star is definitely a welcome change! My child used to melt down about going to school, even waking up several times at night with anxiety about school. We started bright star in the fall of 2019, and it is a complete turnaround. My daughter is excited about school, she never wants to leave at the end of the day, and she adores her teachers. It's always a good sign when you see educators taking their children to a preschool, and I see A LOT of other teachers (LISD) taking their kids in the morning. I even work with other teachers that have their kids at Bright Star. Here is why this school is different: they have an actual CURRICULUM; the teachers are INVESTED; the kids get to move around to different rooms/outdoors to access other learning opportunities (so important for busy young learners); the staff is LOVING (from maintenance through food service to the front desk); and they have a comfort dog (I can't tell you how this has impacted my daughter). They design fresh activities for the kids and actually teach; this is not a daycare, but a school! I can't list all the ways Bright Star is the best school, but we have been absolutely thrilled with our experience.

As a parent, there's nothing more reassuring than to see your child confidently walk to their classroom and almost forget to hug you goodbye because they're ready to play and learn.

That's what Bright Star has given our family in such a short time, and that's what they give every family.

Everyone - the directors, the admin staff, the teachers, the chef, the nurse, and even the amazing maintenance man...they all care deeply about their job and their role in creating the perfect learning environment for my son.

And as for us as parents, they are transparent and dedicated to making us feel like we're a part of their family too.

There's an app that allows us to check in and see pictures and little anecdotes about the day. It allows us to know what he's learning, so we can sing the same songs, sign the same signs, and genuinely feel like we were a part of his day.

There's even an ESA, which my son loves because who doesn't love dogs!?

Every time I see someone in search of a daycare I recommend Bright Star.

They gave us the most precious gift a working parent could ever ask for: a happy son and the knowledge that he's loved and cared for even when we're not there.

Thank you, Bright Star! We love you guys.

My granddaughter has been with Bright Star since the infant room now she’s in early preschool. Best school on the planet teachers are great not to mention the administration team. Myka is such a great principal, Stephanie one of the best assistant principals, and Stacy is just great- you can ask her anything and I promise if she does not know the answer, she will get it for you. Emily, the curriculum coordinator is informative you can ask her anything about the curriculum- she will have an answer ready for you. One of the many things I love about Bright Star is the curriculum the kids are learning my granddaughter comes home saying her colors in English and Spanish. Thanks to all the great teachers and the best administration team you guys rock.

All three of my girls have been at Bright Star Academy. The teachers are top-notch! The facility is bright and fun. I love that they get to spend time in the library, theatre room, art room and cafeteria instead of staying in one classroom the whole day. The administration, cooks and maintenance staff all know the kids names and interact with them during drop off/pick-up. The school is so organized with their lesson plans and theme days. They offer great in-house and off-site field trips. My kids have been treated like family since day one. They love going to Bright Star.

Today as we attended our daughter’s Pre-K Graduation Ceremony, I realized just how happy, confident, and positive our little girl was knowing that she is so ready (in her terms) to move onto Kindergarten! During her time at Bright Star Academy, her little hands and mind have learnt so much. It truly surprises me every minute, just how wonderful her thinking process is growing each day! I would like to thank each and every member of Bright Star for helping our little girl’s wonderful development. You are an excellent team and we are looking forward to Summer Camp!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Bright Star. My oldest son started there at 18 months and is now 6 yrs old and we still have him attend their after-school program. We also have our younger son there (started at 12 months - now 4 yrs old). Both our boys love Bright Star! They always ask when they can go back and it's like I have to drag them out of there at the end of the day when I pick them up! The school is set up perfectly for child development and the teachers and staff take so much care to ensure you and your children have the best experience. I was so pleased that my older son was prepared to start kinder, already knowing how to read and write - and most importantly the social skills they learn. Bright Star has truly become our family and always will be part of our family! We have made life-long friends, memories, and life skills!

When we left our old school, we were not sure we would ever find the same loving staff and teachers we had for our older son. Bright Star has become so much more than we ever expected though! They are so thorough with each child, and the teachers make such a point to make each child feel special. My son went from having behavior problems in his class in preschool, to having GREAT days and being so excited to go to school everyday! We can thank Ms. Sarah in Pre-k for her help a dedication to his education and giving him the challenges he needed!!

We LOVE bright star! When we lived in San Antonio before moving to the Austin area, we took our daughter to a daycare there where unfortunately we learned that you get what you pay for. When we moved we toured several different daycares and were very cautious after our previous experience, but even just calling bright star to book a tour I could tell they were organized and friendly. We fell in love and haven’t looked back. Our daughter has been going here for almost two years and now our son has been going for a year. I tell all of my friends and family members in the area to get their kids in bright star because we feel so strongly about it. I am a nurse at Dell Children’s and love that there is a nurse at the school to assess when accidents happen or determine whether kids need to stay home or not. She keeps us up to date on everything. There is also an app that the teachers document diapers/potty, meals, naps and even pictures that you can look at throughout the day. Everyone is so friendly and my kids genuinely love going to bright star and thrive because of it!

I just want to say how much we appreciate the Summer Camp teachers. On day one of camp, our daughter told my husband “I had so much fun, I almost forgot it was my first day!” We feel so blessed to have a safe, fun, and loving place to send our daughter each day. The other day, I told her – even if I didn’t have to go to work, there’s no way I would have been creative enough to come up with all these amazing activities and field trips! She’s so lucky to have you, and so are we! Thank you for taking care of and loving our little girl! We couldn’t be happier to be back with our Bright Star family for the Summer!

My baby girl has been at Bright Star since she was about 4 months old (she's almost 6 months now). I am a first time mom and was very hesitant to leave my child ANYWHERE, for an extended amount of time. Bright Star did a really good job of easing my fears and answering all of my questions (I had a lot) beforehand. I definitely had some working mom guilt going back to work and leaving my baby at daycare, but the teachers in Infant A room are really good about updating me with the app on naps, bottles, etc...I've definitely noticed that my baby has gotten MUCH better with her motor skills since starting daycare. She is almost able to crawl at this point, and is practically standing up on her own. I think being around other babies all day has also made her much more social and playful. I work from home, and even if I had a babysitter here I was constantly checking on and stressing over the baby, making it hard to be productive with work. Bright Star has definitely given me some sanity back on the days they have her.

My two children have been enrolled at Bright Star for 7 months and love it. This is my 4.5 year olds third school (because we have moved) and this is the first place he has actually been excited about going to school. He has made a great little group of friends and talks about all the fun they have during the day. And my 2.5 year old tells me that her teacher is her best friend. We appreciate how clean the school is kept, and for us, that is a huge plus. It is so difficult to keep germs under control with kids, so we are happy the school makes an extra effort to keep the facility clean. We also really love the fact that Bright Star has a chef on-site that cooks all the meals. The kids get excited at drop-off to check what’s on the menu for lunch that day. It has exposed them to different foods and I noticed shortly after they started that they were more willing to try new foods at home! I love the reports and pictures I receive from the teachers throughout the week, and truly feel my children are in good, loving hands.

I was terrified at the idea of leaving my newborn daughter in the hands of someone else as I returned to my full-time position at work. TERRIFIED. Thank goodness I found Bright Star. My daughter has attended Bright Star for the past 2 and a half years and I couldn't be more confident in my decision to have her enrolled in this program. At the young age of 2 and a half, my daughter has not only received lots of love, attention, and the utmost quality care, but she is also learning so much! I am constantly amazed by the many new things she is excited to tell me about. Their curriculum not only prepares the 4 and 5 year olds for kindergarten, but it also teaches age-appropriate skills and challenges the children all the way down to infant level. Not only has the staff been amazing, but the facilities are welcoming and always offering maximum entertainment and learning opportunities for my girl. I truly feel confident and comfortable leaving my little one in someone else's care on a daily basis, and she is enjoying every second of it (most importantly)!

My daughter, now almost 7, has attended Bright Star since she was 3. We have had nothing but positive experiences there. She learned a lot in preschool and was able to enter kinder a year early thanks to that. Staff is always courteous even when my daughter tested the limits of what she could get away with, as kids do sometimes.

My two daughters have attended Bright Star Academy for the last 4 years and it has been the best decision I have ever made in regards to their future. The teachers, administrative staff, chef, and everyone that works there feels like family. I moved my girls over from another school where I became concerned that they were not getting what was promised at the beginning when we enrolled and noticed they were actually taking steps back in their education. Two weeks in at Bright Star Academy and my 3 year old was caught up on counting, letter recognition, and came home HAPPY at the end of the day. My oldest daughter would come home excited to tell me about the science experiments they did, books they read, games they played outside, and just anxious to tell me about her entire day at BSA! They serve organic food in a family eating style in the cafeteria, which we really like. The children are responsible for clearing their own plates and serving themselves and teachers are invited to join them for lunch. I know "organic" seems so trendy but when you're coming from a school where they only give your children goldfish and what they call "meatloaf", this is a huge bonus. The tuition is average, which shocked me considering everything that you're getting here! We expected it to be much more expensive! They have live animals for the kids to learn about in the art/science room where they are responsible for taking care of the "friends" and feeding them, an indoor play area for rainy days (including a beautiful sandpit and things to jump and climb on), a gorgeous theater room for creative play, library/computer lab, an on-site nurse and during the summer a splash pad area for the kids to enjoy outside. I have honestly never seen a teacher with a sour look on their face, they always seem to be having fun and enjoying their job. Every time we enter the school, we are greeted with a smile and the girls are welcomed with open arms (literally, the teacher greets them with a hug!). If you are looking for a quality, professional, friendly school for your little one to attend, please go take a look at Bright Star Academy. I have no doubt you will feel the same way I do by the end of your tour.

I love Bright Star Academy for my son Tyson! I love how all of the teachers work together. Parents are updated daily on their child’s progress and behavior. I love how involved everyone is with holidays, special events, etc. My three-year-old has learned so much and come out of his shell since attending there the past year. I’m very grateful for the staff at Bright Star.
